Achievements

Highlights of achievements by Department of Computer Engineering Students

Results of the previous academic years have been excellent. Last year two students were in the top 10 from the University of Mumbai. About 96 percent of the students secured a first class with honors. Students from the department have been working on research projects for the subjects like Neural Networks, Image Processing, Networking, Information Systems, Business Systems etc. Also the student have carried out numerous projects in all the previous years, few of which are Interactive Voice Response System, 8085 simulator with assembly programming environment, Maintenance Training Simulator , Restaurant Management System, Distributor Billing System, Video Library System etc.

Highlights of achievements by Department of Computer Engineering Faculty and Staff

The faculty of the department has always been an active one. Recently a TSEC seminar on ‘Recent trends in Computer applications’ was held in March 1997. Talks are arranged on topics such as ‘Internet and Java’ , ‘Software Export Scenario’, ’Monitoring Indian Economy Databases ‘, ‘Remote Sensing’, ‘Video Compression’ etc by various eminent speakers. Mr.Aliasger Shaiwalla of the department spoke on ‘Temporal Databases’.

Mr.Aliasger Shaiwalla, Mr.Pushpasen Mistry and Ms.Parul Shah(Electronics Department) presented two papers at the annual convention of ISTE at Jaipur in December 1996. The department has sponsored faculty members for Post Graduation degrees in renowned institutions like IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur and VJTI.

The department also plans to begin a new degree course in Information Technology and approval has been acquired from AICTE and University of Mumbai.
